Looking south along Fillmore Avenue just past Northland Street, late 1920's. The Scajaquada Drain Project has been completed at this location. Note the slight rise in the pavement; below ground the Scajaquada Creek flows through a man-made channel. In the far distance are the twin steeples of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (1906-1978).
The same view in 2003. Where the underground drain crosses Fillmore Avenue is still represented by a noticeable elevation spanning the street. In the far distance is the former St. Mary Magdalene Church, now reborn as the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
